What does “VPN without downloading” mean?

This phrase often mixes up web proxies, browser settings and a device VPN. A web proxy is a page where you enter another website’s address and open it through an intermediary. vpn.how does not provide that URL-entry tool: it provides a personal server that you must connect to. Visiting the service website alone does not reroute your traffic.

A browser proxy and a device VPN

An HTTP proxy on your personal server can route browser requests. Its settings apply to the browser and requests for which you enable the proxy; other apps may continue connecting directly. An HTTP proxy does not itself encrypt the connection to the proxy. Use HTTPS websites. Connecting other apps requires a suitable VPN client and its own setup.

Desktop Firefox: manual configuration

Firefox on a computer has manual proxy settings, so this method does not require a separate extension. Once your server is ready, open the HTTP proxy guide in your account for its address, port and setup steps. Get the proxy username and password from your own account. After enabling the proxy, check the external IP in that configured browser.

Chrome, Edge and mobile devices

The current desktop Chrome and Edge guide uses an extension from the official browser store, so this option does involve installation. Howl is available for Android and Windows. For iPhone, iPad and Mac, follow the current VLESS instructions in your account and choose a compatible app. A phone connection or a whole-device VPN should not be treated as browser access without installation.

Check the limits before use

Changing your external IP does not guarantee anonymity: websites may still recognise accounts, cookies and other signals. A proxy does not promise faster loading for every website or access to every resource. Speed depends on your network, route and server. If the checked IP differs from your server’s address, review the active profile and settings; opening a guide alone does not establish a working connection.
